I just purchased this amp for an outdoor gig with a full band and where two other guitarists on stage were using VibroLux 40w amps (one vintage, one reissue)and this thing was able to hold its own! Granted the other amps were not fully dialed in volume-wise, but the Blues Junior cut through the band mix like a light saber through a wampa's arm.

With a Strat this thing is super "chimey" and quacky as you'd like to get.
With an LP (P90 in the neck, Filter-Tron in the bridge), I am able to get an array of tones that ranged from thick and full to hot and searing.

The amp takes pedals really well.

I get what people say about the "boxy" sound that it has but I feel its the amp's signature and should be embraced. Definitely not a bad thing when you need to cut through a band mix but if you're a bedroom rocker or want it for home practicing, then maybe you'd want a different sound.

Exactly what I wanted and expected from Fender and Sweetwater. I love the tones and the looks of this little amp, just what I need and wanted. It arrived packed securely in a Fender box. Unlike all of my other Sweetwater deliveries this delivery took about a week thru Fed Ex, not sure why. The Blues Jr. Is a great match for my Esquire and my Teles.
Just got this Saturday and I can't stop playing it. The tones it can produce are so diverse and pleasing. I like to play blues and this amp is perfect for me. I have a spark and a katana 50 and their sound is put to shame by this amp. I can run the master volume at about 2 and the volume set to achieve the tone I want without it being very loud. If you turn up the master it keeps the tone but just gets louder. I am super pleased with this amp for my needs. Just Love the tones I get and the the fullness of the speaker.
This is the first tube amp I have bought and the sound is so much better than previous amps I've owned.
I have a reissue 65 Twin Reverb which I love but as anyone who has ever had one knows the Twin is a beast to move around and sounds best cranked up to volumes that will get you evicted. I bought the Blues Junior as a practice amp that could be used in smaller rooms and be moved around easily in my SUV to go jam with friends. I had an unused NOS JBL E120-8 speaker which had been sitting in a closet for over 15 years which fit perfectly in the BJ III cabinet, the stock speaker is not bad at all but no match for the legendary JBL.I also replaced the stock tubes with EI brand EL-84's and Tung Sol 12AX7's. The end result proved to be absolutely stunning. The very efficient JBL E-120 was as loud as you could tolerate at the 4 setting on volume and the tone was as pure and clean as I have ever heard from far more expensive amps. You did have to turn the treble down on both the amp and guitar to tame the notorious JBL "ice pick" highs. I have a bunch of guitars including Strat, Les Paul, SG, ES335 and L5, their unique sonic personalities were obvious through the Blues Junior. Despite being assembled in Mexico, the Fender is really well built, durable, and sounds great well beyond what you might at a modest price. Very highly recommended.
Fender Authorized Dealer

It's impossible to imagine a world without Fender guitars, and if you're like many of the guitarists at Sweetwater, Fender not only made the first guitar you ever bought, they made the last one too. From being the first large-scale electric and bass makers in the '50s to pushing the boundaries of quality in the twenty-first century, it's no wonder Fender is one of the biggest names in the business. As one of the world's largest Fender dealers - with thousands of products in stock at all times - we're always getting our hands on their latest guitars, basses, and amps. We love to tell our customers all about them, so whether you're looking for your first axe or a Custom Shop creation, give your Sales Engineer a call.
